ANNOUNCEMENTS:  FEBRUARY 5, 2012



We extend a warm welcome to all who are worshipping with  us this morning.  We hope you
experience God’s presence through this worship and receive guidance for your life in God’s world.  If you are visiting, please sign our guest book in the narthex and provide a full address with zip code.  All who are baptized are welcome to receive Holy Communion.  We offer white grape juice and red wine at communion.
 
Special Request Cards are available for visitors and members near the visitor’s sign-in book in the narthex.  If you are visiting and would like more information about Resurrection Lutheran, or if you’re a member and have a special prayer request, are going to the hospital, have a change of address or would like a call from Pastor Mary, please fill out a card and place it in the offering
plate.


Resurrection is a“Reconciling in Christ” congregation.  “Reconciling in Christ”is the designation that this congregation affirms persons of all sexual orientations and gender identities.  We daily affirm that Christ lives in each person.

REFORMATION’S FOOD PANTRY:  Reformation is experiencing a “drought” in its food pantry.  Many food items needed to fill grocery bags for hungry people are lacking.  Reformation’s immediate food needs from partner congregations are:  tuna, canned fruit and cereal.  Our next Community Food Day is the third week of February.  It would be most helpful to receive these items by the second week of February.  Thank you in advance for your generosity.  We remain hopeful that together we can meet the needs of our neighborhood during the cold winter season!

 GET YOUR“ACT” TOGETHER!!:  Looking for a way to meet more members of your Resurrection Family and enjoy some good food & fellowship at the same time??  Then A.C.T.S. (Active Christians Together Socially) dinners are for you! A.C.T.S. gatherings are “round robin” types of get-togethers planned to
  help us get to know each other better.  Interested members will be grouped together in sets of 3 households, each hosting the others for dinner (over a 4-5 month period).  The host family can choose to invite a 4thfamily or single (new member, long-time member or perspective member) to join the group for a time of food, fellowship & fun!  The host family provides the main meal with the other two members of the group bringing the salad or dessert.  The “guests” (4th family or single) get to just enjoy the evening!   The next month, the host family changes and so on until each one in the group has had the opportunity to host the event.  This is a great way to make new friends at Resurrection and to make new or perspective members feel welcome!!  The dinners can be anything from pizza to subs to something more formal, it’s up to you! If you are unable to host a group in your home, sign up anyway and when it is your turn to be the host, have it here at church.  Don’t miss this great opportunity to get involved – sign-up sheet is on the kiosk!! Sign up TODAY!!  If you have any

CONFIRMATION CLASS:  Class will continue this Wednesday, February 8th, at 6:30 p.m.

LADIES THAT LUNCH:  Come join us on Tuesday, February 14th, for a Valentine’s Day lunch at That’s Amore (Hwy. 100 in Hales Corners).  We’ll plan on meeting at 11 a.m.  Please sign up in the
narthex by Sunday, February 5th, so we can get a reservation.  Ladies of all ages are welcome!  Any questions, see Sue Toth.


MOVIE NIGHT:  Our next Movie Night will be on Friday, February 17th, at 7 p.m. We’ll be viewing “A Dolphin’s Tale.” Bring a friend or two and a snack to share.  Hope to see you there!


VIBRANT FAITH AT HOME  WORKSHOP:  Please join us on Saturday, February 18th, from 9:30
a.m.-12 Noon at Cross of Life Lutheran Church (20700 West North Avenue, Brookfield) for a free
seminar that will give you the tools and strategies you need to help your family grow in faith at home.  Please contact Geri Murtaugh to sign up as soon as possible.  Everyone is welcome!

Mt. Meru Coffee:  Orders are taken on the second and fourth Sundays of the month.  Sign up in the Fellowship Hall near the serving counter or see Tracy Hahn.


Need a Prayer?:  If you would like our prayer chain to keep you in their prayers, or you would like to become a member of the prayer chain, please contact Jane Fredach at (414) 425-5956 with your
request.


Reformation Lutheran Church Food Pantry:  Donations of food and personal items go directly to our friends and partners at Reformation.  Place your gifts in the barrels located by the main door. 
Also, remember the need for coffee and supplies for their Coffee Shop. Place those donations in the
box by the mailboxes in the narthex.
